Rikki Alexander Puetz (Rik), 69, of Union, Washington passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015 in Olympia, WA surrounded by his family and friends. He was born December 10, 1945 in Seattle, Washington, to Oscar and Diane Puetz, and graduated from Ingraham High School in 1963. Rik was married to Elaine F. Puetz (Chivall) on March 19, 1971 in Seattle, Washington. Rik started working for his parents in the family roofing business in 1972 and was put in charge of the company in 1989 after the passing of his father. Rik and Elaine moved to Alderbrooke Golf Course in Union, Washington in 1997 where they enjoyed the company of amazing friends. Rik enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling, making milkshakes for family and friends and especially being with and talking to his grandkids. Rik was a philanthropist who loved helping people worldwide, and his annual golf tournament raised money for charities such as Autism Research, Epilepsy Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Research, St. Jude's and local families that needed help.
Rik is survived by his devoted wife Elaine Puetz, their children Chad and his wife Jennifer Puetz, Mark and his wife Aimee Puetz, his grandchildren Cole, Andy, Camryn, Trajan, Ethan, Christian and Zuzu, his Mom Diane, his siblings Bill and wife Carolyn Puetz, Ted and wife Kaye Puetz, Dee Bishop and Dan Puetz, his nieces and nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his dad Oscar Puetz, and brothers Jerry Puetz and Jim Umbinetti.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Nile Shrine Golf Club, 6601 244th St SW, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to your favorite charity in Rik’s name.
