Patti’s journey began September 13th, 1956, in Magnolia with parents Jack & Vivian Cavanaugh & sisters Jackie, Sallie, & Janie. They spent summers enjoying their family cabin on Lake Roesiger, where waterskiing was life, & family was everything.
Patti graduated from Queen Anne HS in 1974. She then graduated from the University of Washington, where she met the love of her life, Mark Fickel.
Mark & Patti married in 1979, backpacked across Europe, & made a house a home in Bellevue with their children Paul, Kim, & Katie. Later, welcoming their bonus children, Ana, Travis & Marcus.
Patti served as director of the children’s Christmas programs at Covenant Presbyterian Church & 27 years as a teacher at Eastside Christian School. Patti had a love for music, her students, & a contagious energy.
Patti's favorite role was Grandma, showering her eight grandchildren, Blake, Myles, Reyna, Jack, Cade, Tatum, Sarah & Wesley, with an individual love that knew no bounds.
Life was cherished by Patti, who consistently brought joy & laughter wherever she went. Her family delighted in Husky games, camping with friends, boating, & enjoying their family cabin on Orcas Island.
With a smile on her face, and joy in her heart, Patti showed us all the importance of friendship, family, selfless hard work, & deep faith. Patti's light will be profoundly missed by all, yet she is smiling as she sees her Lord face to face.
In remembrance of Patti’s life, the family asks that any memorial tributes be made in the form of a donation to Eastside Christian School https://www.ecswa.org/donate/ or Children of the Nation’s https://www.cotni.org/campaigns/memorial-fund-for-patti-fickel
