Patricia Maureen (Bergan) Connolly passed away on November 16, 2022 in Seattle, Washington. She was born on May 24, 1937 in Hartford, Connecticut to John F. Bergan and Mary Lynch Bergan. Mrs. Connolly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Anthony Connolly, her brothers Stephan and Michael, brother in law, Raymond O’Connell, and travel partner Mr. Englander. She spent her early childhood years living in Windsor, CT and then Middletown, CT where she grew up the oldest of 10 siblings. She graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing where she made friendships that lasted her entire life. She then joined the USAF as an RN and was stationed in San Antonio, TX. Pat overcame many obstacles during her life, the first one being a near fatal car crash shortly after joining the Air Force. The doctors said she wouldn’t recover but after just a few months of rehab, she was miraculously back on her feet and ready to travel. Pat must have gotten the travel bug from her beloved Aunt Mary because she set out on many adventures until she met her husband, married in 1967, and started a family. Her love of travel continued through her entire life and she made trips usually twice a year to visit her relatives for Christmas in Middletown and spend summers with her parents at their little beach cottage in RI. Pat was a sweet, kind soul who was eager to share her beautiful smile with anyone she encountered. She loved her grandsons dearly and her whole face would light up around them. Her sister in law succinctly summed up her character: “dry sense of humor, non judgemental, and just a kind, creative, intelligent lady.” Pat spent the last almost 13 years of her life living in Seattle in the care of her daughter and grandson, Cavan. She got to continue traveling, taking trips around Washington. She loved going to Whidbey Island and the Olympic Peninsula on the ferries - always hoping to spot an orca whale. Her daughter also accompanied her on a cruise to Alaska where she got to not only see the beautiful port cities but play lots of Bingo too! Pat is now on a different journey. She passed away peacefully at Harborview Medical Center with her daughter and grandson at her side, holding her, and reassuring her of all her family members, especially her parents and husband, that were waiting to welcome her into their arms.
She is survived by her daughter, Eva Connolly; son, Sean Connolly (Jessica); grandchildren, Cavan Sperry, Bryce Connolly (Kenzie McCrea), Braedan Connolly and Brendan Connolly; and her two very young great-grandchildren, Kassidy and Reagan Connolly, who now have an angel watching over them; along with siblings Peter Bergan (Arlene), William Bergan (Gail), Margie Kent, Susan Conciatori (Michael), Richard Bergan (Maria), Robert Bergan (Anne), Marybeth O’Connell, and Chris Bergan (Laura).
