Pamela Bridges Minton

Pamela Bridges Minton (b. Feb 20, 1955- d. Feb 22, 2022) died in her residence at Atria Bridge Park Retirement Community in Seattle, Washington. She died of complications from glioblastoma. She is survived by her sons, Jonathan William and Ian Andrew; her brothers, Philip and Paul; her son-in-law, Joshua; and her Boston terrier, Sophie. She was 67.

Pamela lived a life of multiple careers that took her across the world. From the early 80s, she served in the United States Air Force for over a decade; making her home in Oklahoma, England, Virginia, and Alaska where she honorably concluded her service as a Captain. Following her military service, she remained in Anchorage, Alaska in appreciation of the state’s abundant wilderness and natural beauty, and where she was a patron of First Presbyterian Church for more than twenty years. She worked with the State of Alaska Department of Transportation, retiring in the summer of 2019.

In life, Pamela was a collector of many things and interests, with a love for reading and knowledge, and a vocabulary hardly matched. She possessed a lifelong passion for science-fiction (namely Star Wars and Star Trek), The Far Side, and animals, especially dogs including Cordelia, Jellybean, and Sophie. Her collection of memorabilia and enjoyment of cross-stitch and photography exemplify how she invested herself into such experiences as her military service, residency abroad, travels in rural Alaska, and studies of biology and history.

Pamela maintained a light and energy that left a positive mark on those around her. Her light is still felt in Anchorage and Cookeville, Tennessee, her sons, and the hearts of all who’ve known her. She is loved immensely and will be deeply missed.
