He shared his early years in California with his sister Judy. The family moved to the Bay Area in the early 40’s where he graduated from San Leandro High School in 1952 and met his wife of 31 years, Naomi Jean.
He enlisted in the U.S Army Reserve in 1954 and went on active duty in 1957.
Norton graduated from San Jose State College and received a BS in Business Administration in 1963.
Norton and Jean with their children Scott, Stacia and Stephanie, moved to Tri-Cities area in 1965 where he worked for Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). In 1968 they moved to Seattle and worked as management consultant with Ernst & Ernst. In 1976 Norton joined Seattle First National Bank as the Manager of EDP Auditing. He graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington with a certificate of Information Systems auditor.
Norton was active in many organizations. He is a past Master and Life Member of Mercer Island Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Seattle and a Noble & Life member of the Nile Shrine.
He was President of the Seattle Chapter of the Associations for systems management, Charter Member of the EDP Auditors Association, and a member of the Banking Administration Institute. He was President of the Lake Sammamish Community Club and a Republican Precinct Committee member for the Happy Valley Precinct and held several leadership positions in the King County Republican Party.
In 1988 Norton Married Lauriann. He loved his days on Lake Sammamish, accompanied by his Poodles and nice vodka. He was a devoted user of Apple, (or any gadget beginning with “i”). He loved photography, gardening, wine, Consumer Reports and a bit of car mania from his younger days.
Norton is survived by daughters Stephanie & Stacia, stepsons Eric & Karl, godchildren Ryan, Kaley & Lindsay, Lauriann’s sisters Joan & Sally, and his beloved dogs MC & Chardonnay.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jean, second wife Lauriann and son Scott.
