Norma Dorothy Foley passed away peacefully after 90 years on January 12, 2018 in Puyallup, WA. Norma was born, July 9, 1927 in Flasher, North Dakota, to Tommy and Valle Thompson. She is survived by her three sons, Jack (Michelle) Guinn, Barry Guinn and Bart (Kristin) Foley. Sisters; Donna Albrecht, Karen Thompson, Helen Hester, Julee (Trinidad) Sanchez, and 12 grandchildren.
Norma was one of 15 kids who migrated west to Roy, WA in 1942. Norma would eventually leave the nest for the bright lights of Seattle where she met "officer friendly," Seattle Policeman, John Foley. The two would marry in 1965 until his passing in 1999.
Norma loved laughter and music. The nine Thompson sisters would routinely gather for piano-side sing-alongs of old gospel standards. For years the group would perform annually at the Roy Rodeo 4th of July celebration. Norma will be remembered most for her loving demeanor, her devotion to family and her gift of humor. Norma was a fixture twice a day for 9 years at the Columbia Lutheran Home in Seattle, serving John his lunch and dinner.
Norma accepted Jesus into her heart shortly before her passing and we now look forward to being reunited in heaven. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 27th at Evergreen Washelli in Seattle.
