Minh Ngoc Tran, 84, of Lynnwood Washington, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 12:51am surrounded by family and close friends. Born December 6, 1934, in My Tho, Vietnam, he was the son of the late Quang Ngoc Tran and Nhuan Thi Pham.
Minh was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He proudly served for 6 years as an interpreter with the South Vietnamese Army in a Special Forces unit. Minh spent his time in service stationed at the Da Nang Air Base in Da Nang, Vietnam.
Minh was a brave and loyal soldier as well as a loving and patient husband and father. Minh was a dedicated family man and his love for his family and his desire for their safety drove him to escape the Viet Cong. In 1980 he escaped the Vietnamese Communists and immigrated to the United States with his family which included his wife, two daughters, two brothers, two sisters, and a niece.
Minh was a master tailor and got to work right way providing for his family in their new country. Minh was personally recognized several times for his hard work and dedication by the President of the Men’s Warehouse, George Zimmer.
Minh had a passion for reading and learning. Minh also loved to travel with his wife Nam. He was also a dog lover, Minh loved dogs almost as much as all dogs loved him.
Minh is survived by his wife Nam of 44 years, his two children, Ngoc and Bic, his two brothers, Phu and Canh, his sister, Vinh, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 27, 2019 at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home at 2:00pm with Senior Pastor Tung Thanh Nguyen of the Vietnamese Alliance Church of Lynnwood. The family will greet friends from 12:30pm to 1:30pm prior to the service.
