Mary Van Valkenberg

Mary was born on June 22, 1923 and lost her long but courageous battle with Alzheimer’s on November 20, 2012. Mary is survived by her son, Bill Van Valkenberg , daughter, Linda Schoener, daughter, Cheryl Maynard , and son, Scott Van Valkenberg . Mary was preceded in death by her husband Harold Van Valkenberg and son Carl Van Valkenberg. Mary is survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mary was a lifetime member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Mary spent her life in the nursing field, originally as a registered nurse, caring and taking care of others. After receiving her Master’s Degree from the University of Washington, she taught in the nursing program at Everett Community College until she retired in 1986. Mary had a gentle heart and demeanor. She was loved by everyone that spent time with her. She will be greatly missed. Memorial Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kenmore Ward , 19215 88th Avenue NE Bothell, WA 98011 on November 29, 2012 at 11:00AM. Mary has requested that any donations in her name, may be sent to Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
