Born Mary Ellen Leicht on April 8, 1924 to Joseph and Emma Leicht in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mary graduated from Hughes High in Cincinnati in 1941, and moved to Seattle, Washington with sister Jean in 1944. There, she met and married Neil P. McLeod Jr. in July 1945. Neil and Mary owned and operated the Union Bay Garage in Seattle’s University District for over 30 years. Mary always put family first and gave herself tirelessly to that effort. Mary enjoyed art, sewing, gardening and her family retreat on Crawfish Lake in Washington’s Okanogan Mountains. Preceded in death by husband Neil in 2006, and sisters: Verna, Emma, Jean and brothers Clifford and Robert. Survived by sons Neil III and Paul and grandchildren Emily, Kenneth, Devin and Camden McLeod. The family suggests any remembrance be made to Alzheimer’s research.
