The world lost a loving, generous and faith filled woman on August 31, 2024 when Molly Malloy passed away. Molly was born to Thomas and Ellen Nolan on June 29, 1935 at Providence Hospital, Seattle. She was the second oldest of 10 children and the oldest girl. She grew up in White Center, attended Holy Family Grade School and Holy Rosary High School in West Seattle, where she was Prom Queen in her graduating class in 1953. She attended Seattle University before she moved to New York City to work for Northwest Airlines. She met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Malloy, while working for NWA in NY. They married in 1959 in Seattle and celebrated 60 years of marriage before Dick’s passing in 2020. As a young couple they moved to Queen Anne Hill in Seattle where they raised their three children, Cathy, Tim & Theo in a loving Catholic Home. They were lifelong, active parishioners of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Molly gave of her time in volunteer opportunities generously. She cherished her time as a chaplain at the King County Jail. Molly was a wonderful hostess, he loved entertaining family and friends, preparing wonderful meals and setting beautiful tables. She was an avid reader, loved playing cards, bargain shopping with Judy Casey and spending time with her grandchildren. In retirement, Molly and Dick traveled extensively throughout Europe several time and spent part of the winter months in Phoenix and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Molly was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, her parents: Tom & Ellen Nolan and Veronica Nolan, her brother Tom Nolan, sisters: Kay Boyle, Betty Bochsler & Tricia Clark. She is survived by her three children: Catherine (Laurie), Timothy, Theodore (Margarita), four grandchildren: Arnold, Christopher, Thania and Alex. Also, she is survived by her brothers: Michael & John Nolan, her sisters: Judy Clark, Monica Bradley & Terry Toth, as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 1411 - 1st Ave. West, Seattle. Donations can be made in Molly’s name to St. Anne’s St. Vincent DePaul Society.
