Mary Caroline Greiner Gere

Mary C. Gere passed away November 22, 2010 at her home in Bellevue. She was 84. Mary was born in Passau, Germany on March 3, 1926 to John and Caroli na Greiner. The family emigrat ed to Tacoma where she enjoyed growing up with her sister Lena, and her brothers, John and Harry. She attended Lincoln High School, and worked as an elevator operator in downtown Tacoma. She married Philip C. Gere on November 10, 1950, and moved to Bellevue. Mary and Phil enjoyed 37 years together before Phil's passing in 1988. They raised 4 beautiful and loving daughters. Carol, Cindy, Clarissa, and Cas sandra. Mary loved gardening and was active in Valleyvue Garden Club. As well as being a kind and generous Mother, Mary loved to cook and bake. She also worked for Frederick and Nelson and Old National Bank for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, sons-in-law, Rick, Norman, and Brad, grandchildren Kristin, Ellie, and Ryan, 6 great-grand children, as well as numerous relatives and close friends. A memorial open-house will be held at her home in Bellevue on December 11, 2010 from noon to 6pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to The American Heart Association.
