Mario Reolizo Lara was born on May 22, 1954 in San Isidro, San Marcelino, Zambales, Philippines. He was the son of both the late Antonio and Virginia Lara and brother to Zenaida, the late Arnulfo, Adel, Roel and Neil. Mario graduated from Zambales National Agricultural School as Salutatorian. On July 9, 1973, Mario joined the military in the branch of the United States Navy. In 1979, Mario was stationed at Subic Bay, Naval Station in the Philippines where he met Eleanor Agan Pimentel. Three years later on March 21st, Mario and Eleanor got married at San Miguel Naval Base. Mario lived an exciting life finally getting to travel outside of the Philippines and was stationed in the ends of the world from Italy to Florida and Hawaii. He then rejoined his wife in Alameda, CA only to begin his life as new father to Earl Jan Lara. In 1984, Mario became an American Citizen and soon found himself settled in a house in Washington State. A year later, he had a second son, Laurin Lester Lara. In 1989 he finally birthed a girl, Pearl Marielle Lara which would complete the last of his legacy. Mario was a very sociable man joining many different associations such as the FIL AM. He is on of the original founders of the Ilocano Association of Washington which he helped establish with his close friends in 1990. On November 1993 Mario transferred to the Fleet Reserve ranking as an E7 Chief Aviation Structural Mechanic from the Naval Air station at Whidbey Island, WA. In 1994 he joined Boeing as a Mechanic. While at Boeing, he always wondered if he was smart enough to get a degree. While full time at Boeing, he enrolled into Henry Cogswell College and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with Cum Laude Honors. On September 11, 2001, Worshipful Brother joined the brotherhood of West Gate Lodge #128 F & A Masons and became Worshipful Master in 2008. In the meantime, he finally retired from the military, in 2003 with a well decorated uniform. Finally enjoying his life as a civilian and a full time father, he watched his family grow and loved his wife evermore. Thru the good and bad times, he continued to have a jolly soul. He watched his first son receive his degree, his second inherited his work ethic, and he danced with his daughter debuting her to the world. A beautiful life he lived and there was nothing more he could ever want. From golfing to traveling around the world, Mario would always find happiness in his life. Anyone who surrounded Mario would never walk away without a smile. His demeanor was nothing short of dull due to an addictive laugh. On May 22, 2009 Mario Reolizo Lara passed away within the first few hours of his birthday. Mario will always be loved as much as he loved us. May you rest in peace and live the afterlife as much you lived your own life.
