Marilyn Eppley passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023 at her home in Bothell, WA surrounded by her family. She is survived by her son Michael and wife Courtney, daughter Ann-Marie and husband Scott, granddaughter Brooke, and grandson Max.
Marilyn was a dedicated mother. She took great joy in raising her two children-a role she carried out with an unwavering, gentle love. She was present for every baseball game, a vital classroom volunteer, and household manager. She shared her children’s joys and tears, remaining the rock they could always rely on.
A Special Education and reading teacher, she was committed to her students’ learning, believed in each and every one, and showed them compassion and love. Her students loved her-they chose to eat lunch with her and many stayed in contact over the years.
Marilyn loved her grandchildren dearly. She delighted in watching them grow. Brooke looked forward to visits with Nana; her favorite part was Nana reading to her (often the same book multiple times).
Marilyn was a loyal friend. She had many close friends and made it a priority to keep in touch over the years. She valued conversation, truly knowing each friend for who they were. There were many lunch dates, talks over lattes, and hour long phone chats. She always listened-with love and without judgment.
Please contact the family for Memorial Service details. Memorials may be made in her honor to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
