Margaret passed away on June 4, 2021 after battling diabetes and many other health issues.
She passed just five months after her husband of 62 years, Richard John Powers (who passed, January 11, 2021) and is survived by her children Julie and Michael. Margaret was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada to William and Margaret (Peggy) Knight who emigrated from Scotland. She and her family moved to Lynnwood, Washington when she was in high school. During this time, she met Richard through a blind date, and they married December 27, 1958.
Margaret worked for the Seattle School District in many capacities, including Assistant to the Principal at Whitman Middle School, and then retiring from the Seattle School District Transportation office. She was a dedicated employee, a hard worker and was well thought of by her peers.
Margaret had a wonderful sense of humor and wit, and was cherished as a loving wife and mother. She had a huge heart, and would do anything for her family. She will be sorely missed.
