Hannah May Linda Scanlon, daughter of Michael Anthony Scanlon and Ellen Dore was born on May 1, 1943, in London, United Kingdom. She is survived by her brother, Michael, and loving children, Robert, Sean [Kim], Matthew, Carrie, and Siobhan. She was a devoted and proud grandmother, Nana, to Brendan, Michael, Victoria, Kayla, Erin, Conor, Aidan, Dylan, Sean, Cooper and McKenzie. As well as a handful of nieces and nephews.
Linda was born in London during WWII. She lived in Asmara, Eritrea in 1944 and then Cairo, Egypt in 1946. In 1947, she moved to Cyprus with her brother and parents and remained there until they emigrated to the US in June 1954. She attended St. Anne School and Holy Names Academy, graduating class of 1961. Linda spent a year at Washington State University, before returning home and later becoming a stewardess for Northwest Orient Airlines. This job allowed her to travel and ultimately meet lifelong friends. She later met and married Robert P. Haggerty Sr. from Drexel Hill, PA and remained on the east coast until her return to Seattle in 1989. Linda worked for SEIU Local 6 Labor Union and took great pride in the work that she did and the people she represented. She retired in 2013 and spent the better part of her time with family and exploring her passion for cooking. And boy, could she cook. Linda loved her family more than anything, next to being Irish, and was sure to share lots of stories with us all. She is remembered for her warm smile and welcoming nature. She is deeply missed by many but will be held in our hearts forever.
