As a young child LaRue moved with her family to Leavenworth, Washington where she was raised and graduated from high school.
LaRue married the love of her life, William R. Schmidt "Smitty" in 1954. They lived in Hawaii, then retired to the Seattle area. She was a resident of Bothell for over 30 years. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage before he passed away in 2005.
LaRue was preceded in death by her husband, parents and all 16 of her siblings. She is survived by 29 nieces and nephews as well as countless grandnieces and nephews who all adore her. She had a special knack for making everyone feel loved and special. Though small in stature, LaRue had an enormous personality. She could fill any room with her feisty spirit and amazing sense of humor.
Family was her life and she spent her time keeping a very large family connected and together. Annual family reunions were the highlight of each year.
LaRue was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was loved by her congregation and she enjoyed serving them.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 2pm at Kenmore Ward, 19215 88th Ave NE, Bothell, WA 98011. Following the service she will be laid to rest at Acacia Memorial Park, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Seattle, WA 98155.
