Larry Smith passed away on February 8, 2015. He was born on May 9, 1953, in Winona, Minnesota to Donald and Joan Smith. He grew up in Vader and Mountlake Terrace, Washington, graduated from Mountlake Terrace High School in 1972, and ultimately settled in Lynnwood, where he raised his family. Larry was an accomplished precision machinist. He began his career first at Guerin Manufacturing and then worked for 22 years at Honeycutt Manufacturing. Larry loved to play jokes on his co-workers and family. He was a dedicated employee, father, friend, and neighbor. Larry especially enjoyed time with his family on many camping trips, fishing and duck hunting with his buddies, hiking, and going to farmers markets. Larry loved good food, trying new restaurants, and finding new recipes. As of late, Larry loved his visits to San Francisco to visit his son Aaron and spending time with his two granddaughters, who he adored. Larry was dearly loved by his family and friends. He will be forever missed. Larry was predeceased by his mother, Joan (Ensrud) Smith; step-mother, Emma Smith; and father, Donald Smith. He is survived by his former wife, Lynn and their children, Crystal (Smith) and Josh Finkelstein, of Seattle; and Aaron Smith, of San Francisco. He also is survived by his granddaughters, Olivia and Avery Finkelstein; his brother, Curt Smith (Sharon Smith); and sisters, Drucella Carrier (Dean Carrier) and Cindy Duey; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at Becks Funeral Home in Edmonds on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Larry's name to the American Heart Association.
