May 3, 1947 – April 12, 2025
Larry James Haderli passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, just weeks shy of his 78th birthday. Born on May 3, 1947, Larry grew up in Seattle and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. After high school, he headed to Western Washington University, where he met his lifelong best friend, Len Honeycutt, and may have had a little too much fun along the way. He returned to Seattle and proudly earned his degree in Education from Seattle University—a milestone he was so proud to attain, he held SU close to his heart for the rest of his life.
Though trained as an educator, Larry found his professional calling as an insurance agent, a career he dedicated himself to for over 30 years. He loved helping people and took great pride in being a trusted guide and advocate for his clients.
Larry was a man of many interests. He had a deep love of sports and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams at Seattle University basketball games and Sounders FC matches. He also enjoyed bowling, attending plays and musicals, and had a true appreciation for all kinds of music—from classical to classic rock.
Above all, Larry was known for his quick wit and endless supply of dad jokes. His humor—sometimes groan-worthy, always endearing—was a gift he shared freely, brightening even the most ordinary moments for those around him.
Larry is survived by his brother Don; nieces Kara and Tenley; nephews Travis and Richard; and many beloved cousins. He is also lovingly remembered by his stepdaughters Erika and Tracy, his longtime partner Terry, her sons Nick and Greg, and her cherished granddaughters.
Larry will be laid to rest at Evergreen Washelli in Seattle, the city he loved and called home his entire life. He will be remembered for his warm heart, steady presence, and the laughter he brought into the world—one dad joke at a time.
Visitation to be held Friday, April 25, from 12:00PM-1:45PM; followed by Graveside Service at 2:00PM, all at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home and Cemetery 11111 Aurora Ave N. Seattle.
