We have come here today to celebrate the life of Katherine Ann (Willits) Heusser.
Kathy was born in Seattle to Earl and Ethel Willits on November 23, 1955. Tomorrow would have been her 60th birthday.
She is survived by her husband, Russ Heusser, her son Chris Buentemeier and Charis Whalen and granddaughters, Mackenzie and Savanah and her brothers Robert and Jim Willits.
Loving Kathy was easy. Even though for the last 15 years she had to live with the knowledge that she had cancer, she was quick to smile, to laugh and was always eager to lend a helping hand. She never let her illness change her or make it a burden for those who knew or loved her. To say she was brave would be an understatement.
For most of these years she was able to enjoy her garden, her kitchen, her family and her close childhood friends, Pam, Shelley and Dee, and most recently her granddaughter, Mackenzie.
Her last year was difficult with multiple surgeries, and chemo and radiation therapy. But even then¦ she remained Kathy.
If love could have kept you here, Kathy, you would never have gone.
Your love will always be with us.
