John Dallas Anderson passed into Heaven on June 7th, 2023, at his residence in Issaquah, Washington. John was born June 9th, 1930, in Beaver, Pennsylvania, son of Wilbert Wayne and Margaret MacDougall (Hastie) Anderson.
John attended Penn State College, where he played basketball while earning a degree in mechanical engineering and was then recruited by Boeing. He moved to Seattle Washington, worked at Boeing his entire 40 year career, and lived with friends in a West Seattle house for a number of years until he married.
John married Frances "Scotty" Ann Scott on August 4th, 1968. They moved to Ballard (Seattle), WA and had 2 children, Tom and Crystal.
John Enjoyed sailing and built and owned a number of boats. Also enjoyed skiing, biking and hiking and traveling. John was able to retire early and spent time traveling with Frances before she passed away in 1996. He then moved to Issaquah and later to Timber Ridge retirement community, where he again lived amongst friends including long term friend, Dick Haase.
John loved Jesus and his Word and enjoyed reading and learning. John was sometimes quiet, but had strength of character including his love, generosity, patience, humility and service.
John is preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Scotty) Anderson, sister Jean Davis, niece Laurie Showman, and nephew Clair Lee Sheldrake. John is survived by his children, Tom and Crystal, grandchildren Claire and Audrey Anderson, and his nieces Margaret "Meg" Larson & Holly Borland.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 8th at 1:30pm at Timber Ridge at Talus in Issaquah, Washington.
Friends may make memorial contributions in his name to Union Gospel Mission.
