Joan worked as a Registered Nurse for a number of years before becoming a Healthcare Administrator at the Brooklyn Hospital in New York. In the 1970s she moved to the Pacific Northwest and bought her first home in Seattle, WA, beginning a career with the University of Washington Medical Center. In time she was able to fly both of her parents out to Seattle to join her life in the Northwest. She continued her education, receiving a Masters Degree in Nursing Administration and Healthcare. While she travelled extensively, it was always a favorite destination to return home to her beloved New York to see old friends again.
She is survived by many family members, friends and colleagues.
She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth and her mother Ann.
Services and interment are private.
Joan was a devout Catholic and her faith was very important to her. She sang in the choir for many years. One of her favorite verses was John 11:25 - "I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in me shall live even in death and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die". Joan continues to live on in our hearts forever.
