of her family on June 2, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born at home to Ernest and Zelma Stahl in Manly, Iowa on July
26, 1931. At a young age the family moved to Fargo, North Dakota, where
she grew up. Jeanne attended Moorhead State College and her life took
a turn when she met and married the love of her life, Jim Overby
in 1952. The Overby's lived in Maryland while Jim was finishing his
service in the Navy, and then briefly lived in Minneapolis,
Minnesota. Jeanne and Jim with their two children, David and Kathy,
moved to Seattle in 1959 and then settled in Shoreline in 1961. Jeanne
was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.
She was known for her generosity, honesty and especially her non-judgmental
nature. Jeanne treated every holiday and special occasion as an
opportunity to make those around her feel loved and cherished through
her thoughtful cards and heartfelt gifts. Jeanne was preceded in death
by her husband Jim, of 53 years. She is survived by her sister Carolyn
(Ken) Roeder of Thompson, ND, son David (Anne) Overby of Olympia, WA,
daughter Kathy (Steve) Savory of Bothell, WA, granddaughters Monica
Savory (Dana) of Bellingham, WA, Miranda Savory of Bellingham, WA,
nieces Mary Yaeger of Thompson, ND, Cindy (Ken) Grohs of Fargo,ND,
Kristi (Randy) Weberg of Becker, MN, Connie Jondahl Bring of Galesburg,
ND, nephews Mike (Peggy) Yaeger of Peachtree,GA, Mark Jondahl of Fargo,
ND and Bill Jondahl of Mesa, AZ.
A celebration of Jeanne and Jim’s lives will be held Friday, June 17, 2:00 p.m. at Acacia Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way NE Seattle, WA.
