Jean Nathalie Whiting peacefully passed away at the age of 100 under the comfort and care of the sensitive staff at Mount St Vincent in West Seattle on November 25th. Jean was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Born and raised in Kanaskat, Washington she is predeceased by her parents, Peter and Armida Giannotti, and brothers Aldo and Tony and sisters Emma, and Anita.
After high school, Jean moved to Seattle where she started her career as a bookkeeper and later met and married her husband, Bob Whiting. The young couple settled in West Seattle where they raised four children. Bob and Jean were active members of Holy Rosary parish and the Son’s of Italy. Jean was very proud of her Italian heritage and loved cooking many Italian dishes.
Jean and Bob cherished their summer home on Hat Island for over 30 years. Jean loved gardening and hosting family and friends on the island. In retirement Jean enjoyed time with family, travel, caring for dogs, and a good game of bingo. Bob and Jean later moved to Sequim for over seven years and then back to the Seattle area.
Jean is preceded in death by her loving husband Bob and son Kevin. She is survived by daughters Linda Maxwell, Diane Douty, son Bob Whiting Jr. and 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at11 am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 6701 30th Avenue SW, Seattle.
