Janet Gayle Hewitt (69) of Lynnwood Washington passed away on Wednesday December 13, 2023.
As she passed into the glory of Heaven, Janet was surrounded by her husband Warren Hewitt, daughter Sarah Bowden (and husband Aron), son Brian Hewitt (and wife Jamie), son Adam Hewitt (and wife Jessica), Janet & Warren’s ten grandchildren, Taylor, Tysen, Tenley, Blythe, Josephine, Toryn, Declan, Logan, Callum, and Killian, and her sisters Susan Morris and Nancy Sundeen. It was a sacred time as we cried, laughed, cried, and sang hymns and songs of praise.
The hope we know to be true, and the blessed assurance is that when Janet’s heart stopped beating, she opened her eyes, and she saw the face of her Lord and Savior. Jesus wrapped His arms of love around Janet and welcomed her home. We take comfort in knowing and clinging to the promises of a merciful God, that one day we will see her again. “For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God” 2 Corinthians 5:1
Janet is preceded in death by her parents Gordon Sundeen and Jean Sundeen, and her grandparents David and Linda Sundeen, and David and Grace Thompson.
In addition to being a wife, mom, Grammie, sister and dear friend, Janet lead the children’s ministry program and served as administrative assistant at Calvin Presbyterian Church. Janet graduated with honors in the Residential Design program of the Art Institute of Seattle in 2012 and from Cottey College in 1974. She was very creative and after graduating from the Art Institute formed Janet Hewitt Design, which allowed her to do interior designing for several years before she retired in 2018.
A Celebration of Janet’s life will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Shoreline Free Methodist Church, 510 NE 175th St., Shoreline, WA 98155.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation, in memory of Janet to Seattle Children’s Hospital’s uncompensated care fund or Shoreline Free Methodist Church.
