Jack Vincent Li (李睿杰), born November 7, 2000, from Bellevue, WA, passed away unexpectedly September 6, 2022 in NYC. Jack is survived by his mother, Yun Kao, his father, Hang Li and his older brother Matthew.
Jack was a Senior student at the New York University, NYC, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Economics. He was preparing to apply for law schools. During his study at NYU, he was named a recipient of a Dean’s Undergraduate Research Fund Grant, got accepted as Visiting student undergraduate research assistant in NYU Abu Dhabi, and was in the honors program at the Department of Politics. Jack graduated from International Community School (LWSD) in Kirkland, WA. In high school, he was particularly interested in participated various Model United Nations activities, was co-president of the school MUN club and acted in many MUN conferences’ leadership positions.
Jack had worked for a variety of nonprofit, political and state entities. Jack was always prepared to give his all to the issues and civic duties, people, and causes he believed in. Last summer, Jack took the fall semester off to work as a campaign manager for Ruth Lipscomb for Bellevue City Council in 2021 election cycle. Post-campaign, he worked as a legislative aide to WA state Senator Joe Nguyen (WA-34) for the 2022 Legislative Session. He wanted to follow Sen. Nguyen’s footsteps and believed in greater Asian American representation in this country.
Jack was an avid movie, music, and video game fan, and loved reading and writing. He was a member of Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra. A graveside service for Jack will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 1PM to 3PM at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Seattle. A memorial service was held two weeks earlier near NYU at Greenwich Village Funeral Home, NYC.
