She lived life to the fullest until some setbacks made her weak and unable to continue her travels. She was loved by all, and had a great circle of friends. A frequent traveler to Hawaii, she considered it a second home. Her sister, best friend and traveling companion, Lillian, passed away four years earlier. They are together again.
Irene was a remarkable mother, aunt and friend to all of us. Born on April 5, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York to Jean Lindberg and Ella Daae, both of Norwegian heritage. She is survived by her sons; daughters-in-law. Eileen Rockey and Amanda Rockey; nieces, Lori Lynn Sykas and Kristina Mills; cousins from Norway; and many supportive friends.
There will be a memorial service on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 4:00 pm, at the Lake City Elk's Lodge, and an inurment at Acacia Memorial Park.
