As the youngest of nine kids, she faced many life challenges, from the last to go to college to the last to get married. Everything was hand-me-downs from her older siblings. I remembered the story of how she was the always the last one to slurp up the leftover soup from her father. Despite these struggles, she felt a sense of duty to care for her mother since everyone else had families of their own. She stepped up to the plate and embraced the responsibility.
