On December 31, 2021, Howard James Wise, loving husband and father of 4 children, 3 step-children, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren passed away in Mount Vernon, Washington. He was born May 5, 1943, in Renton, Washington and has been a long time resident in Western Washington.
Howard spent many years in the construction industry. When not working in the field, he taught his trade to those in apprenticeship programs. At the time of his retirement, he was an estimator and project manager.
After his retirement, Howard was able to devote his life to his real passion. He helped others in need. He did this quietly and most people around him were unaware of his generosity. He also devoted his time and energy to supporting the Shriners' Hospitals for Children. He loved riding his minibike in parades and served several times as Captain and Secretary/Treasurer of the unit. He spent many hours volunteering as a Patient Support Coordinator arranging transportation and housing for children to be treated at the hospitals.
Howard was preceded in death by his father, William and his mother Edith Camille Keys; his son, Howard "Bruce" Wise; his brothers, Donald, Ernie, Ed, Ben, Danny; his sisters, Doris Carter and Barbara Quickel.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marcia; his children, Kelly, Tracy, Tamara Konkol, Rachel Rovik, Caleb Ludwig, and Joel Breen; his brother, William; sisters, Julie Bruessgard and Judy Tucker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 13, at 2:00 pm, at Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle, Washington.
