Henry Han Chin passed peacefully away on July 9th at home in Seattle. He was born to Chong Lee and Yee Ling Chin in Toishan,China on March 1, 1951. He spent his early years in Hong Kong and later immigrated to the United States. Henry's studies took him to New York and upon returning to Seattle, he opened a dental practice in the International District in 1980.
Henry and his wonderful wife, Garbo, wed in 1988. Henry and Garbo were givers to their local community, family, and friends. He served on the Board of Kin On Retirement Home and returned as lecturer to the University of Washington Dental School (his undergrad alma mater as a specialist in pediatric dentistry). Henry moved his practice to Capitol Hill in 2003 and retired in 2020.
He was a fun-loving guy with a giving heart and an immense loyalty to his friends and family. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.
Henry is survived by his wife, Garbo; his late brother Larry (Rosalind); their children: Chanelle (Ivan), Jadon and Christen (Nainoa); his sister, Hazel (Robbie) and nephews, Noah and Tyler.
A funeral service for Henry will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. A committalservice will occur Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. A visitation will occur Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133.
