The angels came to collect Helen early Monday morning, April 19, 2010. Her three daughters were with her as she peacefully left on her final journey. Helen was born in Spokane, WA, January 3, 1922, to Irene and Ralph Taylor, and grew up in Wenatchee, WA where she befriended the younger sister of her future husband to be, Thomas Henry Lyons. They married after his graduation from the Naval Academy, Annapolis, MA. His assignments took them from Washington to New York, Florida, Hawaii, and finally Richland, WA where they raised their three daughters, Paula Jill Lyons, Debbie Lyons and Tamara Lyons Zirians (wife of Simon Zirians). Helen retired from Hanford and moved to the Seattle area to be near her daughters and granddaughters (Dana Weston, Bridget Augspurger, Shannon Taylor Brown, Katie Brown, Jordan Zirians and Taylor Zirians) and great-granddaughters (Colee Snapp, Payton Weston and Lola Augspurger). Once in the Seattle area, Helen found swimming and new friends in addition to staying in touch with many lifelong friends. Her greatest legacies are her beauty, love and wonderful sense of humor. A memorial will be held in her honor on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Acacia Funeral Home. Please see acaciafuneralhome.com for details and directions.
