Born September 20, 1945. Died May 22, 2012 of breast cancer. Helen was a lifelong resident of the Seattle area. She was a 1964 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and worked for many years with maritime insurance, before retiring several years ago.
Helen loved walking and bird watching in the parks and natural areas of the Pacific Northwest. She traveled to New Zealand, Costa Rica, the Balkans and beyond. Helen sang in the choir at St. John's church. She was a strong advocate for social justice and civil rights.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents Jane and Hewitt Jackson, and by her older sister Margaret Gabert.
She is survived by her brother, Paul Jackson, sisters Kathleen Jackson, Mary Jackson, and Eileen Dvorak, nephews James Dvorak and David Dvorak, and extended family.
Memorial mass will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. 121 N. 80th Street, Seattle, WA 98103, Friday, June 8th, 2012 at 10:00AM.
