Born in Port Orchard in 1919 to Foster Pratt and Olive Grace Pratt. He was married to his loving wife, Margaret Fitzsimmons in 1941. Harry will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, brother and friend to many. After serving in the Pacific during WWII, Harry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington in 1946 and began his career at Puget Sound Bridge and Dredging before joining the City of Seattle engineers in the water department.
After he retired, Harry and Margaret embarked on travels around the world, visiting southeast Asia, Europe, the Holy Lands, Australia, China and Japan, and one of Harry’s favorite: Panama Canal. Their bookcase was filled with binders where each journey was memorialized with stories and photos.
Harry was a member of the Queen City Yacht club and enjoyed pleasure boating all around Puget Sound. He loved watching and graphing his beloved Husky football games.
A devoted father to Larry (Rosalie) and Susan, he modeled a life of honesty, integrity and faithfulness. He was proud of his three grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Margaret, his parents, brother, Foster, and sisters, Betty and Madge.
No memorial service will be held at this time due to pandemic-driven restrictions. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Horizon House or a charity of your choice.
