Gloria Anne Kirby

Gloria Anne Kirby, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep April 6, 2025. Gloria was the second youngest of ten children born to Frank and Ethel Brown in Bellingham, WA.

She met and married Wallace (Wally) Kirby in 1953 and promptly moved to West Seattle where they raised their 4 boys, Ronald (Ron), Kevin, Brian, and Dean. Gloria retired from Seattle Schools Food Services with thirty years of service and remained active in the Seattle Food Services Lunchroom Association and other clubs. She loved being a wife, a mother, and a homemaker. She loved her sewing, her cross stitching, crafting and, most of all, visiting with friends and family.

Gloria is survived by her sons Ron, Kevin (Chris), and Brian, her grandchildren Joshua and Melissa, four great grandsons, her younger sister Dorothy (Gordon), and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Wallace Kirby, youngest son Dean, her parents, and eight older siblings.

Gloria will be missed by so many friends and loved ones. A gathering to celebrate Gloria’s 93 years with us will be held May 3, 2025 at the Cedarbrook Lodge in the Lily Room from 1-4pm.
