Born in Gary, Indiana on October 30, 1945, Glenn grew up the oldest of three siblings. Graduating in 1963, he was Student Council President of Lew Wallace High School. He earned both his Bachelor’s Degree and his MBA from Purdue University before settling in Seattle, Washington. A nature lover at heart, he felt most at home among the mountains and the coastlines of the Pacific Northwest. Whether whale watching, skiing, or helping rehabilitate birds of prey, he was always excited to share his enjoyment of the outdoors and learning with others.
Glenn was a man of humor, knowledge, and generosity. Whether it was sharing stories of his travel experiences, criticizing bad drivers by calling them yay-hoos, or texting every year on the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, he delighted in a good inside joke. Glenn will be remembered for his enthusiasm for his interests, his support of his nieces and nephew’s educational pursuits, and his appreciation of a good cheeseburger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Adrian, his mother, Pearl (“Emelea”), and his brother, Larry. He is survived by his sister, Lois Addison (Michael), nieces, Erin Edgren and Cara Hoy, nephew, Mark Addison, great niece and nephews, and many friends who were like family. A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family are invited to share memories and stories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Coastal Raptors in Hoquiam, Washington, an organization close to Glenn's heart.
