Geoffrey Bruce Fowler, a child of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, went to his eternal home in Heaven, at 1:17 AM, Friday, Febuary 21, 2020. He departed for the Lord’s Kingdom from Evergreen Hospice Care Center, Kirkland, Washington. His last earthly breath became his first breath in
Heaven.
Geoffrey was born on June 24,1942, in Tooele, Utah. His father “Bob” (Eldridge Merick Fowler) was a Stanford University trained mining engineer and explosives expert for DuPont de Nemours, Inc.. His mother, Dorothy (Pool) Fowler was a graduate of Stanford University with a degree
in Political Science, a stay-at-home-parent, and a church and community
volunteer.
Because of his father’s career, Geoff lived and went to school in every region of the United States. He was a talented musician and started playing the coronet, then the trumpet, as an elementary school student. Geoff received his Eagle Scout Award while living in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 12. When he was 16 years old, he accompanied a favorite Aunt (Jean Pool Bock), and cousin (Sandra Jo Butler) to Europe for three weeks. This trip was, for Geoff, a thrill of a lifetime. He grew his love of people and travel with every country they visited. Geoff graduated from Carlsbad Senior High School, Carlsbad, New Mexico in 1960. In 1964, he graduated from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona with a degree in Business Administration. In his freshman year at ASU, Geoff became a “Born-Again” Christian through Campus Crusade for Christ. He remained faithful to the Lord for over 60 years. After graduation, Geoff spent the next 4 years in the United States Air Force. His technical and administrative training was
completed at Amarillo AFB, Amarillo, Texas. He was then assigned to
Wiesbaden, Germany.
After Germany, Geoff began working as a sales consultant for Chromalloy Photographic Industries, Inc.. Geoff met his wife, Mary Novak, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while selling portrait packages for Chromalloy, in 1976. Geoff told Mary that he wanted “to be a Preacher of God’s Word,” and Mary told Geoff that she wanted “to marry a Christian man.” The Lord, faithful to His promises, opened that door, and they were married on May 27, 1977, in Stanton, California. Their successful forty-two year marriage was blessed with many friends, family, and extended church-family members.
After the first few years of their marriage they transitioned to the Pacific Northwest, where Geoff was a District Sales Manager for Prentice-Hall Legal & Financial Services. Geoff found his last church family at Westgate Chapel and New Heart Ministries, Edmonds, Washington. Geoff was a Spiritual Father to many seekers of the Lord, and they remain a part of Geoff’s eternal legacy.
Geoff is survived by his wife Mary (Novak) Fowler, Lake Forest Park, Washington, and sisters Jean Fowler Strong (Ted), Phoenix, Arizona and
Kate Fowler Markham, Peoria, Arizona. Geoff was blessed with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Evergreen Washelli Funeral home on Thursday March 5th, 2020 at 10am. A committal service and reception will be held following the memorial service.
