Gail was born on October 8, 1950 in Seattle, WA to Robert and Ellen Oglesby. Gail Graduated from Shorecrest High School in Seattle, WA in 1968. After a brief job with Burger Master she moved on to an accounting position with Cascade Natural Gas followed by Seattle Times and American States Insurance. While there she studied for certifications in insurance. Gail then left insurance after working for Grange Insurance as an Adjuster. Gail also attended Gene Juarez Academy where she was a licensed Manicure and Pedicure Cosmetologist.
On August 16, 1975, Gail Married Paul Tuomi in a ceremony at parent’s home with all families and friends.
Gail and Paul were married and together for 50 years beginning in 1973.
Gail is survived by Paul, Daughter Maija Tuomi (Jill Knutson), Sons Erik Tuomi and Matthew Tuomi (Brittany Whitmore), and Brother Robert Oglesby, Sister-in-law Hellen Schmid (Richard). Cousins Sandy Beck (Don), Terry Wilkins, and Ruby in Oregon. Grandchildren Aspen Tuomi, Matthew Tuomi, Madison Tuomi, Marcuse Johnson, Elise Johnson, Christian Tuomi and Chloe Tuomi. Nieces Christina Gega, Ali Baird, Nova McBee, Olivia Ramos, Leanne Schmid, Nephews: Austin Kristiansen and Isaac Schmid.
Gail is preceded in death by her father Robert Oglesby, mother Ellen Oglesby, Sister Sherie Kristiansen and sister in law Kate McJannett.
During her life Gail loved to have family and friends at the house for dinners and get togethers, going to her children’s, Grandchildren’s sporting events, games and most of all the annual gathering of friends and family at the Sandpiper Resort in Pacific Beach. Daily walks on the beach with everyone and pets and all the bonfires and barbeques. Good times. Gail was happy to make personalized thank you, birthday, notes and get-well cards and send them to family and work friends.
Gail’s biggest joy was her grandchildren, family and friends. Her sense of humor, strong spirit, big heart and endless love and laughter will be missed by all. Gail was also an animal and pet lover, donating to animal causes, feeding squirrels, birds and deer that nosed up to sliding door waiting for her apples or nut bread.
Remembrances in Gail’s name can be made for cancer research to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center or Overlake Hospital.
