The religious background of her family was Lutheran, for Gail this remained into her adult life. She grew up with 2 siblings, one brother, Daniel & one sister, Susan. When Gail was young the family moved from Garretson, SD to Bellingham, WA. Ultimately Gail graduated from Shoreline HS in Seattle, class of 1970.
Personality wise – Gail was, sweet and kind as a child, rambunctious as teen, and back to sweet and kind as an adult.
As a young adult Gail worked in a cannery in Alaska.
Later in life, she went to University of Phoenix and received a Bachelor of Science in Human Services Management. After finally getting her degree she decided that she loved her job at the funeral home through Dignity and stayed on with them. Gail most recently worked for the care Center located here at Acacia, she worked as a dispatcher where she was recognized as Care Center Associate of Quarter. She enjoyed her time at Acacia and was very fond of her co-workers.
Her prior employment was in the timeshare industry where she was responsible for stocking and decorating each vacation unit at the resorts. Gail made many friends during her years in the vacation industry including her sister-in-law Sandi when they worked at Vacation Internationale.
She loved to watch old movies and read classic novels like Jane Eyre. She enjoyed reading all types of books and her e-reader was full. She enjoyed visiting friends and camping at the beach . . . the beach was a place of contemplation and rejuvenation.
Gail LOVED dogs – from afar, close up, yours, hers, everyone’s! She just couldn’t pass a dog without petting it and telling it how beautiful it was.
She especially loved being ‘Mom’ to her son Michael and a few others she “adopted” to herself along the way. And she was ‘aunty’ to other children she loved.
She was very proud of her work as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for foster children, it gave her a sense of making a difference in the life of a child – which she did quite well!
Gail like Crocheting, knitting, the piano and being a den mother for the Cub Scout Troop.
Gail was Honest, Caring, Devoted --- a person of integrity. She was Happy, Generous, Loving, Hilarious, and Hardworking.
The SEAHAWKS!! She was very much a vocal fan of the Seahawks!
Gail loved a good Southern Fried Chicken with a good potato salad… also, fresh seafood on a bed of fresh greens, Key Lime Pie, cheesecake, and dark Godiva chocolate. She loved things that would grab her taste buds and not let go!
When she liked something she was eating, she had the BEST descriptions! She could make an old icky dried up cheeseburger sound like it was made with Kobe beef . . . her descriptions were fantastic! She started a love affair with sushi after Holly and Michael introduced her to the good stuff.
Gail loved to cook and feed her family and friends, she especially loved having people over to make Lefsa.
You could always count on Gail and you always had fun when you were with her.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me; Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
