Eleanor Esfeld Cohon passed away on October 25, 2020 just four days shy of her 97th birthday. She was born in Seattle, the daughter of Sol and Sadie Esfeld. Eleanor graduated from Garfield High School and attended the University of Washington where she was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority. She married Julian Cohon in 1942 and was devoted to him for their lengthy marriage of 64 years. In addition to being a superlative wife, mother, and homemaker, Eleanor traveled the world with her husband, enjoyed years of golf, was a lifelong bridge player and a passionate and devoted Husky and Seahawk fan. Eleanor was known for her fashion sense and impeccable style. She was the consummate hostess and made her home the center for all family holidays and celebrations. Eleanor followed in her father’s footsteps of community service and philanthropy. Among the organizations to which she dedicated her time and talents were the Jewish Family Service, City of Hope, Temple de Hirsch Sinai Sisterhood, Council of Jewish Women, the Jewish Federation and the Kline Galland Home. Eleanor is survived by her brother, Donald Esfeld; three children: Linda Kollack (spouse Robert ); Marjorie Danz (spouse, Ron); Robert Cohon (spouse, Jamie); six grandchildren: Allison Z, Kollack, Jason A. Kollack, Leslie Danz Person (spouse, Andrew) and Lauren Danz Silvernail (spouse, Jeremy), Jeremy Cohon, Ashley Cohon and four great grandchildren: Sadie and Tucker Person; Eleanor and Asher Silvernail.
