Edwin Thomas Beach age 92, of Seattle, passed away on September 23, 2005. He was born October 18, 1912 in Cannon City, Colorado. He moved to the Green Lake area of Seattle in 1913. After Ed graduated from Ballard High School he worked for Hardeman Hat Co., making hats. His real career started in 1934 when he went to work for Schermerhorn Bros. Co. He was President of Schermerhorn/Continental Western Corp., for 10 years, when he retired in 1977. Ed was an active member at Rainier Golf Club where he enjoyed golf and Gin Rummy with special friends, for over 25 years. Besides golf, Ed's real love was his close-knit family. His beautiful wife Vera passed away in 2001 after 63 years of marriage. He is survived by his three loving daughters, Barbara and Roy Yates, Carol and Bill Heimkes and Janice and Rick Newell; eight grandchildren, Melissa Norris, Kathy Shubert, Susan Wilson, Jeff Heimkes, Jill McDaniels, Terry Powell, Tracy Perkins and Dan Newell; and 12 great grandchildren. He has touched the lives and hearts of many and will never be forgotten.
