Please accept my sincere condolences. I am a rep for an architectural hardware company. I started in 2000 and when I first met Ed, he was the nicest guy I had met trying to get my foot in the door at some of these incredibly intimidating architectural firms.  But Ed was the guy that called and emailed me with questions more frequently than most and I sincerely appreciated that. He guided me into CSI and to this day I am very thankful he did. He always had time for me and always was teaching me what was valuable to him and other specifications folks. I will never forget Ed. Thank you for gracing our lives Ed! Salute! Cin-Cin!

For over 30 years, we had the pleasure of living next door to Ed and Olivia. They were wonderful neighbors, with whom we shared many experiences over the years. In addition to the occasional dinner invitation, Ed would also invite us to join him in whatever pastime he was pursuing; I remember in particular some car rally and band jam adventures. Too bad neither my husband nor I play golf--we would have had a great time with Ed on the course!

We will miss Ed so much and will remember him fondly. We send our love and heartfelt condolences to Olivia and the family.

Ed was not just a nbbj colleague, he was a friend and mentor that started me on my journey to spec writing and CSI.  I loved spending time catching up on our dogs' shenanigans (RIP Otis) and golf stories. Ed enticed me to join CSI with monthly steak dinners including being in a room with the plethora of industry knowledge I would absorb from just hanging out at those meetings and learning how to do Architecture "right", e.g. (NOT i.e.) detailing and performance requirements. He taught me to speak up and push back when you know something is not getting done properly. My eternal thanks for answering all my endless questions and encouraging me to advance myself in this profession. I will miss you, friend. Give my love to Otis! - Candice Clinton

Ed was one of the members of our Puget Sound Chapter of CSI that got me started with this wonderful professional organization.  For over twenty years he was always there to help me and my students. He set the stage for almost one hundred of my students to receive CSI scholarships. I'll never forget his help. RIP Ed.
