Edna Henrietta Espinosa

Edna H. (Zumwinkle) Espinosa, R.N passed surrounded by family on January 2, 2023 after several years of poor health. Edna was born in Fairdale, N.D. on April 25, 1933. Her parents were Edward H. Zumwinkle and Ida Christine Samuelson. After high school and a quarter ¬ at the University of North Dakota she moved to Seattle; was enrolled at Columbus Hospital, School of Nursing – graduating in October of 1955. She Married Dr. Everardo Espinosa on August 19, 1955. After graduation she joined her husband in Chicago, IL. They lived there 2 years and then 2 years in Peoria, IL returning to Seattle in 1959.

She had 4 children, Dr. Karla M. Espinosa (deceased), Leon A. Espinosa (deceased), André E. Espinosa, wife (Jacqueline), Maura C. Espinosa Al-Nouri, husband (Sam).

Edna was energetic, excellent mother, wife, friendly, loving, caring, excelled in prioritizing and organizing. She loved gardening, was loved and respected by her family & friends. Besides husband and two children she is survived by grandson Nickolas Nicoloudakis and granddaughter Alexandra Espinosa, plus many nephews and nieces.
