Don was born September 6, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Riverside, California with his family at a young age. After serving in the Navy he met and married Luretta. Together they had 2 sons, Scott and Bruce, and daughter, Joyce. Don moved from California to the Great Northwest in 1964 and lived in Issaquah, WA from early 1965 to his passing. Luretta and Don divorced not long after moving to Washington State. He remarried once more before meeting and marrying Anne in 1986.
He liked to tell people that he loved Issaquah instantly and felt like he had lived there his entire life. He worked for Seattle First National Bank from 1964 to retirement and was energetic, curious and always up for an adventure. He loved skiing, boating, fishing, hiking, and reading - everything. Time spent on his boat, the Chewa, cruising Puget Sound was one of his favorite pastimes however, if asked, his most important achievement in life was raising his 2 fine sons and daughter. He preferred to live a simple life and did so on his own terms. He kept a print of the Desiderata on the wall at home, it was his favorite philosophy. He greatly enjoyed time at the Eagles Club in Issaquah and found many friends during his time as a volunteer with them.
He is preceded by his parents, Clarence (Pike) and Darlene Johnson, brother Darold Johnson, wife Anne Glass Johnson, and son Scott Johnson. He is survived by his son Bruce and daughter-in-law Francoise, daughter Joyce, granddaughter Gabrielle, grandson Christoph, step-daughters Rohini and Pipasa and step-son Frank.
