Born November 27, 1952 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Dale and Eva Vandever, Cyle passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2023. Raised in Bakersfield, California, the family moved to Edmonds, Washington where he graduated from Woodway High school in 1971.
After attending Shoreline Community College, he joined the Army and served in Germany and Maryland. In 1974 he married the love of his life, Lori Millard.
Cyle began his 31-year career as a Special Agent with U.S. Customs in Seattle, and retired as Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency in San Francisco.
Returning to the Puget Sound area after retirement, Cyle continued to work with the Department of Homeland Security and later with the Bellevue Police Dept.
Cyle was kind and generous to all. As a lifelong sports fan, one of Cyle's greatest joys was coaching his children's sports teams. Family was everything to Cyle and he adored spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lori; his children, Scott (Kristin) and Erin (TJ); his grandchildren, Grayden, Simone, Sloan, and Naomi; his siblings, Michael, David, and Linda; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry.
Cyle was interred at Evergreen-Washelli Columbarium in a private ceremony on July 22, 2023.
A Celebration of Cyle's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Blakely Hall in Issaquah, WA.
In lieu of flowers, tributes may be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation or Providence Hospice of Seattle.
