In Loving Memory of Charles R. Suvan who passed away on May 16, 2011 at the age of 84. Born on August 1, 1927 in Seattle, WA. to Anton and Lillian Suvan, he shipped out to sea in the Merchant Marines at the age of 16. He, also, served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Coast Guard. Upon returning to Seattle, he entered into the auto industry. In 1952 he started Cadillac Square on 6th and Battery and he purchased Downtown Datsun in 1971. Under his leadership they became one of the highest volume dealers. He went on to become the president of the National Independent Auto Dealers Association in the late 60's. Charles passion for the sea lead to Western Yacht Sales on Westlake Ave. They specialized in vintage Cris Crafts brought from the Great Lakes area. He was a life time member of the Seattle Yacht Club as well as a dedicated Mason, Shriner, and American Legion member. His greatest joy was being with his family by the waters of Lake Washington or cruising in the San Juan's. He is survived by the love of his life, Louise, of 57 years. Also survived by sons, Cory and Eric; daughter, Melissa; grand daughters, Jessica, Lily, and Gracie; and many loving extended family and friends. A Private Celebration of Life was held Saturday, May 21, 2011. In lieu of flowers, remembarances are suggested to the American Heart Foundation in his memory.
