Charles "Chick" Schindler, age 88, passed away on 10/7/2017 in Edmonds, WA. He was born 9/17/1929 in Seattle, WA, the second son of Charles & Jessie Schindler. Chick graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1948. In 1949, he married Rosalie Ulsrud Schindler and they were married 66 years until her death in 2016. He enlisted in the Army in 1951 living in California before fortunately being deployed 12 months to Okinawa instead of Korea. Upon discharge, Chick went to the UW for 3 years when an opportunity to take over his uncle's fruit route occurred in 1957. Chick & Rosalie managed to grow the fruit route into a very successful business, Peterson Fruit, Co., Inc., Mukilteo, WA. After retirement, they would rotate living between their 3 homes: Palm Desert, CA; Sandpoint, ID; Edmonds, WA. Chick always owned a boat, water & snow skied, loved golf, and traveled all over the world. Chick is survived by two sons, Curt(Wendy) & Eric; four grandsons, Chris(Suzanne), Kyle, Corey, Keaton; great grandchildren, Alanna & Rhys; one brother, Denny Schindler; 4 nephews, 2 nieces. Chick often could be heard saying, "Laughter makes the world go around." He will be missed.
