Charles Raatz

Charles Frederick Raatz Jr., age 92, of Shoreline, Washington passed away on Wednesday November 20, 2019. Charles was born January 9, 1927 in Seattle, Washington to Charles & Gertrude Raatz. He graduated from Franklin High School before joining the U.S. Army and serving in World War II. After the war he returned home and attended the University of Washington on the GI Bill.

Charles met and married his wife Sherry in 1961, and together they had four children. He worked as an Engineer for the Boeing Company from the 1950's until his retirement over 40 years later.

Charles was an avid hiker, and he enjoyed traveling the world in his free time. He was a beloved husband and father, and he will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death his first wife Harriett in 1957, as well as his wife Sherry in 1995, two brothers Irving Raatz and Harold Raatz, and his sisters Verona Dunning and Frances Struck. He is survived by his four children, a grandson, and his brother Don Raatz, as well as many other friends and family members.
