In loving memory of Cissy, who passed away peacefully November 4, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. Cissy was born October 7, 1927 in Seattle and lived her entire life on Queen Anne Hill, where she raised five children with her husband, E. Elwood Hall. She nurtured a lifelong love of the arts. She discovered a passion for pottery after a friend suggested taking a class at the QA Rec Center. She worked for 10 years as a studio potter at Pottery NW and co-owned Willapa Bay Pottery & Plants with her daughter Jan. Cissy also loved ikebana and knitting and operated the Cottage Knitting store and school with her daughter Karen on QA. Her artistic gifts descended to her son Randy, a photographer, and daughter Elizabeth, a painter.
Inspired to travel, Cissy toured Europe and much of America with her daughter Margaret. She adored her 11 grandchildren and played an integral role in their lives, always welcoming them to her home and vacationing with them at the ocean. Her love reached beyond her family to embrace her children's friends, her best friend Kate L. and Kate's family, and many other people she met throughout her life.
Cissy was preceded in death by her husband, her son Randy, and her brother Harold (Bud) Anderson. She is survived by four daughters, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Family and friends will celebrate Cissy's life at her house this Sunday, Nov. 11, 2-5pm.
