Unfortunately though, she faced tough times with family obligations, taking care of her parents, and trying to balance her many responsibilities.  She always took these trials with a smile though, and relied on God, reciting Romans 8:38-39 reciting: “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angel nor principalities, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created things shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  
She continued to take life with grace, even as she was diagnosed with MS.  Though she had so much to complain about, she always focused outwards on others, and continued be just as present in my life.  
I love you Cathy, and will always remember and cherish the wonderful memories we have had together.  Cathy, because of your faith in me, I am who I am today.  I have fulfilled those dreams you encouraged me to go after during those nights when we ate seafood pasta and walked home in the rain.  I hope that I can carry your legacy by encouraging others to go after their dreams as well, and being an anchor in their lives as you were in mine.
Here is a photo of the first card you wrote to me on 7/7/88.  Knowing that I love Ballet, this card has kept my faith and kept me going during many of my trials.

Cathy’ Eulogy Dec 25, 2022
When I was 11 years old my family emigrated from Taiwan to Seattle, It was the year 1979 and uncle Wu Shin Kuo, had sponsored and financed the immigration of our family to America for a better life.   My parents, Pao Tung Kuo and Huang Chuan Kuo, were deeply indebted to him.  They worked long hours, while we lived in poverty on the top floor of a three story house that belonged to Aunt and Uncle.  
During this time, wonderful things began to happen as we met cousins that we never remembered or were close to previously.  They brightened and touched our lives.  
It was during this time that I came to know Cathy Kuo as uncle’s only daughter.
Many times, she would invite me to her choir at school.  I was always amazed by her talent and I was proud to call such a wonderful person my cousin. I loved being with her, learning from her, and I always wished we could have spent more time together, even if we had hung out for hours. She taught me the song “When I wake up in the morning” and that became our little cousin song.  
Cathy also had a personal testimony of Christ and it showed in the way she treated others. Like Christ, she always strove to love others unconditionally, and this showed especially when she worked with children.  She had been asked to be a counselor at youth camp directed by ECC and I am always amazed at how well she handled any difficulties that arose while working with the camps.
I have such sweet memories of Cathy.  She truly appreciated beautiful things, great food, dressing up and eating nice meals.  She would take me to eat the best pasta seafood I’d ever tasted, while we shared our dreams and hopes for the future. I will never forget how we would dance in the rain while walking home together, and her genuine interest in my life
Cathy graduated in December 1992 from the University of Washington with a BA in psychology and BA in English with hopes to become an elementary school teacher. 

Cathy had a big heart.  She was so warm and friendly towards me during a time when I was without my family, and made a point to make me feel welcome. I enjoyed her quirky sense of humor and will remember her love of books and music that she shared with me many years ago.
