Carol was born April 15, 1943 in Seattle Washington. The daughter and only child of Miles and Doris Stubblefield (Goyke), Carol was raised in Seattle and attended Shoreline schools, graduating in 1961. Being the adventurer she was, she moved to California with a few girlfriends to start their adult lives just after high school. She began a job at General Electric near San Jose and lived in that area for five years. In 1967, she returned to Seattle, starting a career in the legal field. She began working at the Seattle prosecuting attorney’s office and later went to work as a legal secretary for the firm Cook & Dunlap, which eventually was the firm Lee, Smart, Cook, Martin and Patterson, from which she retired after nearly 40 years. After her retirement, Carol kept very busy with her volunteer work. She regularly helped out organizations such as Homage in Snohomish County and Children’s Hospital - actively participating with the hospital’s guild association, and working in their Shoreline thrift store. Carol loved spending time with her family and friends, camping, traveling or playing cards, and was always trying new things. She loved animals and keeping her yard full of flowers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Miles, her stepfather, Al Goyke, and special friends Eimar Soot and Walt Scott. Carol is gone too soon and will be greatly missed by daughter Lori, granddaughter Karly and her partner Richard, great-granddaughter Austen, and all of those close to her.
Carol’s Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, April 15, 2022, at Evergreen Washelli in Seattle. Graveside interment at 2:00, followed by chapel service and reception.
In lieu of flowers, Carol would have loved donations in her honor be made to Children’s Hospital of Seattle, Uncompensated Care Fund. https://www.seattlechildrens.org/giving/donate/honor-loved-one/
