In Loving Memory: Celebrating the Life of a Beloved Father, Son, Brother and Friend.
It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Brandon Franchot Lowell DeCuir, who passed away on 16 June 2023. Brandon was a cherished friend, a devoted son and brother, and a loving father who left an indelible mark on the lives he touched.
A man of curiosity and quiet contemplation, Brandon found solace in long walks amidst nature's embrace. Each step he took brought him closer to the beauty surrounding him grounding him in the present moment and allowing him to connect with the world. Whether strolling on sunlight paths or tracing the rhythmic tides of the sea, he reveled in the harmony of nature. He cultivated his thoughts in these times of solitude, pondering life's profound questions. During these moments of reflection, Brandon was inspired to share his insights with others. Brandon had the gift of turning simple moments with those he loved into extraordinary memories.
While Brandon cherished his moments of solitude, he was also an immensely loving father, son, brother and friend. His compassionate nature and empathetic ear made him a trusted confidant, and his gentle presence helped countless individuals navigate life's many challenges. Brandon maintained a deep and meaningful bond with his mother, honoring her with unwavering love and gratitude. As a father, he nurtured his children's minds with the gift of curiosity and encouraged them to seek knowledge, understanding, and love in all aspects of life. Brandon was a devoted father, showing his children Søren and Lena unconditional love, encouragement and guidance. His role as a father brought him immeasurable joy, and he cherished the precious moments he spent with his kids.
As a big brother Brandon was the best. He was always there to talk, listen, take his sisters on great adventures and occasionally tease or just act silly. Brandon was also a loyal friend, always there to lend a listening ear, offer words of wisdom, and provide a comforting presence in times of need. He was fun, fearless and full of life.
While we mourn the loss of Brandon, let also celebrate the profound impact this beautiful, gentle soul had on our lives.
Brandon is preceded in death by his father René, his loving grandparents Lowell and Carol Olson, Herman and Marjorie DeCuir and his uncle Herman DeCuir. He is survived by his children Søren and Lena (mother, Christi DeCuir), who will carry forth his legacy. May they find comfort in knowing their father's love and wisdom will forever be etched in their hearts. His mother, Deborah DeCuir, who loved Brandon from his first breath, and his beautiful sisters, Carey Marie, Melissa and Cortney. His Godmother Janet Monsen, nieces and nephews, Isabella, Jayden, Penelope, Chloe, Jacob, Matilda, Paiton and Meadow as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In the wake of this profound loss, let us remember Brandon as the beautiful man he was. In honoring Brandon's memory, let us also remember the importance of nurturing our own well-being and mindful presence in life. May we recognize that seeking solace in solitude does not imply isolation and that the pursuit of understanding reminds us to cherish life's mysteries and engage with life with compassion, empathy and love.
Rest In Peace, Brandon. You will be so deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the hearts of lives you have touched. May your spirit continue to guide us as we navigate life's journey, seeking solace, knowledge and meaning in the beauty of the present moment.
"So smile to me and take my hand and wave goodbye. Tomorrow we shall meet again or even before. We shall always be meeting at the true source, always meeting again on the myriad sunlight paths of life."
